2015 NZISA Golf Open

CDISC are all set for hosting the 2015 NZISA Golf Open in Dannevirke. We have received a fantastic response for this event, with 87 players registering over all three divisions. It is great to see a high level of interest in this sport, and we are looking forward to hosting you all on Saturday. This newsletter outlines final information for those attending the Golf Open, but if there are any queries please do not hesitate to
contact us. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable journey to Dannevirke!

Friday Practice:
Players wanting a practice round are welcome to join the local Dannevirke Golf Competition which tees off between 11.00am and 12.00pm. A $20.00 Competition

Entry Fee applies per player (includes Green Fees) where you will be eligible for competition prizes. This fee is paid directly to the Dannevirke Golf Club on the day.

Friday Night A casual ‘Meet and Greet’ will be held at the Mangatera Hotel, located at 391 High Meet & Greet: Street in Dannevirke, from 7.00pm onwards.

Saturday Tournament Control
Golf Open: Tournament Control will be located in the office on the ground floor of the club room. The morning debrief and submission of scorecards will be made here. Score cards are to be collected and submitted by the Team Captain of each group.

9.15am to 9.45am - Player Check In All players are required to check in to confirm your attendance, your playing group, starting hole, to uplift your tournament souvenir, and make payment (if not made prior to the weekend). This will be located upstairs at the clubroom.

10.00am - Welcome and Event Debrief
A brief welcome and event debrief will be carried out in front of the Tournament Control Office located outside of the clubroom. If there are any questions in regards so the Golf Open, these can be asked here.

10.30am - Tee Off
A shotgun start will commence at 10.30am sharp. All playing groups will be allocated a specific hole to start from, which will be provided when players check in. Transport will be available to the furthest tees of the course.

Golf Cart Hire
There are limited carts available for players to hire ($25.00 per cart). If you require one please contact CDISC. This is on a first in, first serve basis, and we prefer to see these left for those who really do require a cart to get around the course.

Saturday 11th April; Club competition Card draw at 11.15 am for 11.30 am tee off. Duty Pat, House Scott  Saturday 11th / Sunday 12th April; Coronation Cup Zone play at Takapau. The four Clubs involved are Dannevirke, Takapau, Porongahau, and Cape Turnagain. Draw below Team Members, leaving Mangatera Hotel carpark at 6.15 am  CORONATION CUP 2026 - see draw below Tuesday 14th April; Mangatera Hotel sponsored LVA Tournament 10 am tee off. enquiries to Donald Speedy 027 430 5620 Saturday 18th April; Cape Turnagain 27-hole Strokeplay Tournament. Round 3 of the Ruahine Rosebowl. 8 am tea & Coffee, 8.30 am Tee off. Let's get a good muster to Herbertville, always a great day. Sunday 19th April; Golf Hawkes Bay Pennants Round 5. All four teams travel for this round. Handicap 2 & 3 still have a chance of making the finals! Summer Cup; Amrit and I did battle last Saturday. Finally, I have my name on a club trophy. Great match, thanks, Amrit. Sisters Club, Queen's Birthday in Patea; S orry for missing a number of people at the proposed meeting a couple of weeks ago, I assumed it would be a normal Saturday and turned up at 5 pm to discover only a small number of people played that day, and most of those that did had gone home. I’m at golf this Saturday, so we’ll have a meeting following the prize giving. From my informal enquiries, it looks like we’ll have a group of about 24 going to Patea. I’ve booked accommodation at the Kerry Lane motel in Hawera. I’m currently looking at transport options. The most likely is a couple of vans. We will then require a couple of drivers for Saturday and Sunday. Regards Stephen Best wishes to our Coronation Cup team at Takapau, let's hope the cyclone heads out east and gives us a miss. Friday, April 3rd; There will be a Friday competition run tomorrow. Own groups up until 12 noon. Card draw at 12 for those looking for a game at that time. Saturday 4th April; Club day for those who are around over the weekend. 11.15 am card draw for 11.30 am tee off. Starter Zane, House Basil. Any members playing Club Championship matches, please contact the starter. Saturday 10th / Sunday 11th April; Coronation Cup Zone play at Takapau. The selectors have named the following players. We would like to thank all those that have put their names forward for this year's Coronation cup team. The selection for this was not an easy task as we started with 23 names to select from, but we got there. Rosebowl Thank you to the two Dannevirke players who made it to Pongaroa last Sunday. Thanks also to Pongaroa for a well-run, well-fed day, as always we were well looked after. Thanks, Mark and Ranier, for stepping in to play for Dannevirke when we were short on numbers. RESULTS: 1st Norsewood 2nd Cape Turnagain 3rd Pongaroa 4th Dannevirke 5th Takapau A Brief history: the Rosebowl has been taking place for 30+ years and is a meaningful tournament for local interculb golf. We appreciate there is a lot of golf at this time of the season, however, it is a shame when such days are not well supported by our members. Any thoughts or suggestions on how this event can be better attended, please reach out to Zane, Peter, or any match committee member. We do not want to see these tournaments fall off the annual calendar. Coronation Cup A team will be selected by Thursday, 2nd April. First round is in Takapau on Saturday, 11th April Twilight The end of Twilight season was postponed this week due to the weather and will be held next Thursday (weather permitting).
