Evening all,
Lots to cover tonight. Saturday is Championship Finals day, With the change in dates this year, we have one minor glitch.
Wedding
On Saturday 11 May the Club has been hired out to Ray and Doreen Black for their son’s wedding. Therefore the upstairs lounge will not be available on Friday and Saturday.
Not a problem, Championships are on the Course, the wedding is in the Clubhouse. Downstairs lounge will be used for after match and Trophy presentations. Speaking of Trophies, if you won one last year and took it home, please return it Saturday for Presentation (cleaned of course}

Sisters Club
A list is up outside the men’s lockers for those either interested in playing or helping at the Sisters Club event on the 1st and 2nd of June. We’re expecting close to 60 visitors so any help would be appreciated. Dannevirke have won the last 2 events so given home advantage we would like to get a large number of players. With one card in five being dropped from the scoring the larger the team the bigger the advantage.
A final note. Please remember I retired at the last AGM as the Club Captain, so pleeeease stop calling me about matches, etc etc, its not my call. Please contact Mike Matthews (Club Captain) on 021 402043 or mikematthews058@gmail.com. As the Club Scribe, I'm doing What's On, that's it.

SHB 27 Hole Strokeplay Tournament. Entries close Wednesday 30th July, for the draw publication on Thursday 31st July.. No post entries (No entries on the day) We currently have about 70 entries. Reminder; Members are asked to bring a plate for a shared meal after our 27 hole tournament. 👉 Saturday 9th August; Lui Paewai Trophy. Best stableford by a club member on the day. Evening all, Saturday 19th July; Presidents Cup Round 1 Matchplay . Duty Match Committee Chalky, House Johnny Sunday 20th July, HGC event. A travel group from Hawkes Bay who visit a course once a month. Approximately 50 - 55 golfers, staring at 9am on Tees 1, 5, 10 and 16. Still plenty of room for locals. Please be aware that players are coming from four directions, so don't just jump on a tee, make sure you they are at least half a fairway away before starting in front of them. Captain Zane is looking for anyone who can help prepare 50 burgers for our visitors around 1pm.
