Evening all,
Feilding Inter club; Thank you to the 38 members who turned out to make this Inter Club a fantastic day. The morning tea for our guests of scones, picklets, muffins topped with jam and cream (real whipped cream), what a delight, and really appreciated by the Feilding members. Feilding had 25 players. Thanks to Brian & Kieran for coming out and mowing the greens, which really does showcase our course at its very best. The scoring was hot, with Dannevirke taking out the Chadwick & Graham Cup with a Stableford aggregate of 35.6 versus Feilding 34.04. Scoring 40 or more points for Dannevirke Peter Drummond, Ken Barnett, Wendy Poole, Wendy Parkes, Margaret Stephenson, Vaughan Hales, Chick Fisher, Warren Ridge, Jim Bassett and myself.
Saturday 17th Sunday 18th November: Greenwood Cup Rounds 4-7 Napier GC. The team is unchanged from that which competed on 13th October. The team is in a very good position on the leader board, and heads to Napier, determined to do their very best. On behalf of all members, we wish you well
Monday 19th November AGM Clubrooms at 7pm. A request please to our Club Champions. A photographer will be on site prior to the AGM to take group photos if you can make it

Friday, April 3rd; There will be a Friday competition run tomorrow. Own groups up until 12 noon. Card draw at 12 for those looking for a game at that time. Saturday 4th April; Club day for those who are around over the weekend. 11.15 am card draw for 11.30 am tee off. Starter Zane, House Basil. Any members playing Club Championship matches, please contact the starter. Saturday 10th / Sunday 11th April; Coronation Cup Zone play at Takapau. The selectors have named the following players. We would like to thank all those that have put their names forward for this year's Coronation cup team. The selection for this was not an easy task as we started with 23 names to select from, but we got there. Rosebowl Thank you to the two Dannevirke players who made it to Pongaroa last Sunday. Thanks also to Pongaroa for a well-run, well-fed day, as always we were well looked after. Thanks, Mark and Ranier, for stepping in to play for Dannevirke when we were short on numbers. RESULTS: 1st Norsewood 2nd Cape Turnagain 3rd Pongaroa 4th Dannevirke 5th Takapau A Brief history: the Rosebowl has been taking place for 30+ years and is a meaningful tournament for local interculb golf. We appreciate there is a lot of golf at this time of the season, however, it is a shame when such days are not well supported by our members. Any thoughts or suggestions on how this event can be better attended, please reach out to Zane, Peter, or any match committee member. We do not want to see these tournaments fall off the annual calendar. Coronation Cup A team will be selected by Thursday, 2nd April. First round is in Takapau on Saturday, 11th April Twilight The end of Twilight season was postponed this week due to the weather and will be held next Thursday (weather permitting). Saturday 21st March; Club Championships Round 1 Matchplay. Duty, Match Committee, House ?. If you have a Match, please convey that to the starters. Round 2 is not until May 2nd, so please keep communication with your opponent open so the matches can all be completed. Thank you to all who put names forward for the Championships. We have four draws, Senior, Intermediate A & B, and Junior A (all attached) compiled from names entered. Thanks, Pat Harold, for putting the draws together. Any questions or queries, please contact captains Zane or Peter. Sunday 22nd March; Pongaroa 27 Hole Strokeplay Tournament, Round two of the Ruahine Rosebowl. 8 am, tea & Coffee, 8.30 am tee off, $35 includes competition and food. Can we get a good muster, please, especially those looking for Coronation Cup selection. We require more than three, which we had at Norsewood, please. High School Ambrose: A thank-you note from the High School says it all. " Kia ora e te whānau, our golf tournament last weekend was awesome, with 105 golfers turning up to support our school and try their luck at winning $20 000! Unfortunately, no one was able to ‘sink a hole in one’ and win the money. A big thank you to Mr Amrit Pasad and all the staff and students who helped to make this event a success. We would also like to thank the Dannevirke Golf Course, our generous sponsors and our community for entering the tournament and participating in the fundraising activities held on the day. All profits of this event will go towards our students’ sports travel." Special General Meeting; Thank you to the 55 members who turned out Monday night for the purpose of " Setting the annual member subscription fees for the 2026 / 2027 year. " The conclusion being the annual subscriptions for 2026 / 2027 is $665 for full playing members. The Management Committee acknowledges their error in not advertising this as an Agenda item at the AGM in December. Matter sorted, repeat of error to be avoided, move on. We are in the thick of Match Play golf with GHB Pennants and now Club Champs, and in April, the Coronation Cup. I hope all participants enjoy the experience. Good Golfing👍 Bryan Burt Club Scribe
