| Pleased to see the course has come through the wet winter very well, and currently has a good sole of grass, which will no doubt take a bit of controlling over the next month or so. Brian & Kieran have sprayed the fairways, so you will se signs of weeds turning their leafs up shortly.

Richie is also keen to hear from any member intending to go to Waipawa next week, not all players like a caddie, but he will match you with a willing player. I have received the draw today, so will take it to work tomorrow, scan it and send through to the team members.
Management Committee:
Fixing the unseen. For those unaware, the flat roof on the upstairs part of the Club house is in urgent need of repair. Inspection last year found a refit was required. we have been successful in receiving funding from Pub Charity for close to $18,000 to repair this. Thanks to our funding committee for keeping these applications going in. Greatbatch Builders will be on the job in the near future

We would like to thank all those that have put their names forward for this year's Coronation cup team. The selection for this was not an easy task as we started with 23 names to select from, but we got there. Rosebowl Thank you to the two Dannevirke players who made it to Pongaroa last Sunday. Thanks also to Pongaroa for a well-run, well-fed day, as always we were well looked after. RESULTS: 1st Norsewood 2nd Cape Turnagain 3rd Pongaroa 4th Dannevirke 5th Takapau A Brief history: the Rosebowl has been taking place for 30+ years and is a meaningful tournament for local interculb golf. We appreciate there is a lot of golf at this time of the season, however, it is a shame when such days are not well supported by our members. Any thoughts or suggestions on how this event can be better attended, please reach out to Zane, Peter, or any match committee member. We do not want to see these tournaments fall off the annual calendar. Coronation Cup A team will be selected by Thursday, 2nd April. First round is in Takapau on Saturday, 11th April Twilight The end of Twilight season was postponed this week due to the weather and will be held next Thursday (weather permitting). Saturday 21st March; Club Championships Round 1 Matchplay. Duty, Match Committee, House ?. If you have a Match, please convey that to the starters. Round 2 is not until May 2nd, so please keep communication with your opponent open so the matches can all be completed. Thank you to all who put names forward for the Championships. We have four draws, Senior, Intermediate A & B, and Junior A (all attached) compiled from names entered. Thanks, Pat Harold, for putting the draws together. Sunday 22nd March; Pongaroa 27 Hole Strokeplay Tournament, Round two of the Ruahine Rosebowl. 8 am, tea & Coffee, 8.30 am tee off, $35 includes competition and food. Can we get a good muster, please, especially those looking for Coronation Cup selection. We require more than three, which we had at Norsewood, please. High School Ambrose: A thank-you note from the High School says it all. " Kia ora e te whānau, our golf tournament last weekend was awesome, with 105 golfers turning up to support our school and try their luck at winning $20 000! Unfortunately, no one was able to ‘sink a hole in one’ and win the money. A big thank you to Mr Amrit Pasad and all the staff and students who helped to make this event a success. We would also like to thank the Dannevirke Golf Course, our generous sponsors and our community for entering the tournament and participating in the fundraising activities held on the day. All profits of this event will go towards our students’ sports travel." Special General Meeting; Thank you to the 55 members who turned out Monday night for the purpose of " Setting the annual member subscription fees for the 2026 / 2027 year. " The conclusion being the annual subscriptions for 2026 / 2027 is $665 for full playing members. The Management Committee acknowledges their error in not advertising this as an Agenda item at the AGM in December. Matter sorted, repeat of error to be avoided, move on.
