What's on this weekend at the Dannevirke Golf Club?

Pennants Final, Our Handicap Division 5 team made the finals this year in their first year competing, but unfortunately fell to Napier 6 / 3 last Sunday. Attached are the Results from last Sunday.Interesting for the ten finals, the top seed took out five finals and second seed the remaining five .

Saturday 1st June / Sunday 2nd June. As you are all aware, we host the 48th Annual Sisters Club Tournament this weekend. The field size for Saturday is around 70. made up from Patea 18, Weedons 18, Rarangi 13 and ourselves 21, plus a few more playing Sunday being the Tournament Day. Great to have both Johnny and Frank Edwards playing Sunday. Frank travelled for many years to this Tournament, so good to have him in the field. Tee off 10.30am using tees 1,2,5,10,11,13,and 16. . The weekend programme commences with a Meet & Greet from 6pm onward s at the Merrylees Hotel tomorrow night. Saturday is practice day, followed by a meal at the Clubhouse, and a free night. Sunday again golf at 10.30am, fines session and meal at the Clubhouse, and then back to the Merrylees to dance the night away, with a band put on by the Hotel. It was our intention to put the weekend draws in tonight's What's On, but Stephen couldn't get his attachment email to leave his sent box, Draws for both days will be at the Merrylees tomorrow night


Tuesday June 4th . On Tuesday the Golf H B Eagles are coming to visit and play with our Seniors. Following Golf a presentation is to be made to R B Dailey, making him an Honorary Member of the H B Eagles Golfing Society. Anyone wishing to be at the Clubhouse for the Presentation, should be there before 2pm (approx) .


Well here we go again folks, another shocking weather forecast for the weekend, but as you know, when they predict bad weather it doesn't happen. 👉Saturday 26th July; Matches please. Competitions still running are Wiffin Cup, Sattrup & Brannigan and Presidents Cup. Card draw 11.30am Duty Zane, house Majken 👉 Saturday 2nd August. SHB 27 Hole Strokeplay Tournament. Entries close Wednesday 30th July, for the draw publication on Thursday 31st July.. No post entries (No entries on the day) We currently have about 70 entries. Reminder; Members are asked to bring a plate for a shared meal after our 27 hole tournament. 👉 Saturday 9th August; Lui Paewai Trophy. Best stableford by a club member on the day. The Lui Paewai is a sort after Trophy. The forecast looks good for the weekend. If we have heavy frosts, please delay your start time so as not to burn the fairways and greens. Evening all, Saturday 19th July; Presidents Cup Round 1 Matchplay . Duty Match Committee Chalky, House Johnny Sunday 20th July, HGC event. A travel group from Hawkes Bay who visit a course once a month. Approximately 50 - 55 golfers, staring at 9am on Tees 1, 5, 10 and 16. Still plenty of room for locals. Please be aware that players are coming from four directions, so don't just jump on a tee, make sure you they are at least half a fairway away before starting in front of them. Captain Zane is looking for anyone who can help prepare 50 burgers for our visitors around 1pm. Sunday 20th July; The HGC Tour group will be playing Dannevirke at 9am. Between 50 and 55 players using a 4 tee start. Still room for our members, but please be aware of the players on the 9th and 18th fairways, as they may be carrying on, so don't assume they are stopping, and jumping in front of them.
