Welcome to our new members. What's On is a weekly email to members of the Dannevirke Golf Club, informing you of the up and coming events at our Club. If you don't wish to receive this every week, simply flick me an email and I can delete your name.

Friday February 7th Day 1 Clubs NZ North island Women's Golf teams Championship ( 60 ladies teeing off 8.30 through till 9.15 tees 1 and 10)


Saturday February 8th Day 2 Clubs NZ North island Women's Golf teams Championship ( 60 ladies teeing off 8.30 through till 9.15 tees 1 and 10)


Sunday February 9th Tararua Open Motor Homes Association Tournament (final day, having already played Eketahuna and Pahiatua)


Sunday 16th February; Round 1 Golf Hawkes Bay Pennants Competition , Dannevirke hosting Championship One 36 players at 11.30am)


February 27th, 28th and March 1st, Barry Illsley sponsored 72 hole matchplay tournament. Members, if you haven't done so already and you intend playing please get your entry into Peter Gregory ASAP


These is still a bit of green on the fairways, the rough is short thick and challenging, the pin placements are at the greens staff discretion, and the scoring is in your hands. Best wishes to all playing in the Summer Cup. Last year this was completed in record time. Please keep matches going. You know who you are playing, and a lot of them will have emails above. If you can't play this Saturday, email your opponent and arrange a date and time to play.

What's On 25 April 2025?

Friday 25th April; Anzac Day. Waitahora Cup, (best stabeford on the day). Men versus Ladies aggregate stableford. 12 noon Card draw. Saturday 26th April; Wiffin Cup Qualifying. Top 32 nett scores go through to the Matchplay rounds. House Duty Rhea Clubhouse; The clubhouse has been booked this weekend for a wedding. On Friday and Saturday can members please use the downstairs bar. Please take the time this weekend to get any Championship matches up to date. Saturday May 3rd is set down for Semi Finals, with Finals day set for Saturday May 17th. Any issues, please contact our Captains Zane or Peter Gregory. Forecast looks good for those heading to Anzac Services tomorrow morning. Our 12 noon card draw is only for tomorrow as a show of respect. A minutes silence will be observed prior to play commencing. What's On 17 April 2025?

Friday 18th April; Good Friday. A Friday competition will be held. Tee off from 10.30am, card draw at 12 noon for those interested in joining. Saturday 19th April; Card draw 11.30am. Anyone from the Match Committee present, please assist. House Duty is Basil Friday 25th April; Waitahora Cup, plus men v women aggregate stableford. 12 noon tee off/ card draw Saturday 26th April; Wiffin Cup Qualifying. Coronation Cup Finals, The teams and venue for the finals of the 2025 Coronation Cup are Te Pohue, Karamu, Pongaroa and Dannevirke, to be held at Hawkes Bay Golf Club on May 25th & 26th. A long weekend to look forward too, but not sure about the weather. If you feel like braving the conditions, come on out and have a round. If you are heading away over the weekend, travel safely. What's On 10 April 2025?

Evening all, Saturday 12th April; Cape Turnagain 27 Hole Strokeplay Tournament (Round 3 Ruahine Rosebowl). &.30am cup of tea, 8.30am Tee off Saturday 12th April; Round 2 Club Championship Matchplay. We do have a glitch in the programme, so for the 32 person draws, we are one round short. Please play these games as soon as you possibly can, as we want to continue and have the final Saturday 17t May. Duty Zane & Peter Gregory, House Stephen Sisters Club; Quick meeting to be held downstairs Saturday after prize giving please. Sunday 13th April; Round 4 Golf H B Pennants Competition. Champ 1 are playing at Wairoa, Champ 3 at swairoa. Handicap 2 at Hawkes By Golf Club, and Handicap 4 are at home. Coronation Cup; Congratulations to the Dannevirke team for winning the Zone competition at Porangahau last weekend. This now takes our team with the other Zone winners to finals week end on May 24th and 25th. Venue and the other 3 competing teams to be notified. Again please keep Championship matches moving, Easter next weekend, may provide opportunity to catch up if necessary.
