Saturday 25th September;  Kitt, Kerr, Hape, Simpson Foursomes.  Tee off 11am If you don't have a playing partner already, simply turn up on Saturday and the committee will match you up (If possible.)


Presidents Cup; we are now at Semi final stage, players are excused this week if playing foursomes.


Takapau 30 Hole Strokeplay Tournament;  Saturday 2nd October 8am cup of tea, 8.30am Tee Off. Final Round 2021 Ruahine Rosebowl.


Sattrup & Brannigan; congratulations Johnny Edwards and Captain Mike, for winning this trophy on the 20th hole from Stephen Paewai and M B Lilo. I know that at least two if not more of their matches went past the 18th to get a result, so well done both of you.

 

October / November, We still have a few events to complete this year, including tow week ends of Greenwood Cup, the Drummond Cup, (3 clubs & putter) , Inter Club with Feilding, St Josephs School Ambrose Tournament, and finally the three Christmas cheer events, so still plenty  of golf to be played.


Annual General Meeting; December. Start thinking now about the role you wish to play at the club next year.


The new covid 19 rules are here to stay for a while by the look of things, so please just do what has to be done. Working in a mask all week is a pain, so it would be nice to get out in the fresh air without a mask for a few hours. Signing in etc are basic essentials, so your co-operation is appreciated.


Enjoy the course, as its in brilliant order thanks to our staff and volunteers.

👉Saturday 26th July; Matches please. Competitions still running are Wiffin Cup, Sattrup & Brannigan and Presidents Cup. Card draw 11.30am Duty Zane, house Majken 👉 Saturday 2nd August. SHB 27 Hole Strokeplay Tournament. Entries close Wednesday 30th July, for the draw publication on Thursday 31st July.. No post entries (No entries on the day) We currently have about 70 entries. Reminder; Members are asked to bring a plate for a shared meal after our 27 hole tournament. 👉 Saturday 9th August; Lui Paewai Trophy. Best stableford by a club member on the day. The Lui Paewai is a sort after Trophy. The forecast looks good for the weekend. If we have heavy frosts, please delay your start time so as not to burn the fairways and greens. Evening all, Saturday 19th July; Presidents Cup Round 1 Matchplay . Duty Match Committee Chalky, House Johnny Sunday 20th July, HGC event. A travel group from Hawkes Bay who visit a course once a month. Approximately 50 - 55 golfers, staring at 9am on Tees 1, 5, 10 and 16. Still plenty of room for locals. Please be aware that players are coming from four directions, so don't just jump on a tee, make sure you they are at least half a fairway away before starting in front of them. Captain Zane is looking for anyone who can help prepare 50 burgers for our visitors around 1pm. Evening all, Saturday 12th July; Presidents Cup Qualifying, Top 32 nett scores go through to seeded matchplay competition. Tom Irwin Putter. Please count your on the green putts, the player with the least putts wins the Tom Irwin Putter competition. Duty, Math committee Peter Gregory, House committee ? Sunday 20th July; The HGC Tour group will be playing Dannevirke at 9am. Between 50 and 55 players using a 4 tee start. Still room for our members, but please be aware of the players on the 9th and 18th fairways, as they may be carrying on, so don't assume they are stopping, and jumping in front of them.
