What's On 24 February 2023

Saturday 25th February; Marae Tournament 11am Shot Gun Start.  Make up your own four, or present at the office and Stephen Paewai will put you into the field. Please be there early to assist getting the field started on time.

Sunday 5th March; Norsewood 27 Hole Strokeplay Tournament, Round 1 Ruahine Rosebowl. Normally an 8.30am start, but I will confirm that next week

Golf Hawkes Bay Update;  All Pennant competitions run by the association have been cancelled for 2023. Nine of our 17 clubs have either damaged courses, or damaged roads, making it dangerous to travel.

Coronation Cup;  This competition is still under review, with confirmation due in the next week or two.

NZ Motor homes Association Tararua Tournament; Another great result with this tournament, bringing motor home owners to the Tararua district.  Funding for this event comes from the Tararua District Council, and entrants. Our management committee wishes to express our sincere thanks to captain Mike & Barbara, and all the club members who assisted on Monday 6th February, to provide a roast meal and enjoyable prize giving at our Club. The intention when this tournament started was that the final night would move around the three participating clubs, but because of the efforts of Mike and Barbara, and the so so attitude of Eketahuna and Pahiatua, this will not be happening any time soon. The Dannevirke hospitality is second to none. Thank you all

Difficult times ahead for many of our Association Clubs and members. It is difficult to comprehend, when our course is in such great order., and such a short distance from the extensive damage. Your Committee last night, offered free green fees to members of damaged courses across GHB. We are unsure what the uptake will be, but please make any such guests welcome. Clubs help each other during adversity, with machinery etc, so this is our way of paying forward, should we require help in the future.

Wishing Stephen and his Marae hosts a great Tournament on Saturday, for their annual fundraiser.

Good Golfing

Great opportunity to try out the game, introduce family and friends to golf, or hone a few new skills over 9 holes. The weather gods have been much kinder to us, than in some areas of the country. With approximately 112 mils of rain this month, the course has gone from a dry, plenty of run summer track to a lush green autumn track in a couple of weeks. Plenty of visitors keeping Pat busy, so come on out and enjoy our great course. See you soon. Good Golfing👍 Bryan Burt Club Scribe
