Friday 27th February;  The club is hosting a business Ambrose event commencing at 11am. Friday golf tee off 12noon as normal.

  

Saturday 28th February;  Marae Tournament, 11am tee off. Club members not involved in the Tournament are welcome to make up 4's and fit in where ever there is a one fairway gap. (No Club Competition today) 


Sunday 1st Match;  Golf HB Pennants Round 2. Champ 1 Dvke v Onga Onga at Hawkes Bay, Champ 3. Dvke v Napier at Hawkes Bay, Handicap 2, Dvke v Hawkes Bay at Wairoa, Handicap 3 Dvke v Maraenui at Napier.


Thursday 5th Friday 6th March.  Veterans Waipukurau & Dannevirke Tournament.  This event will be played at Dannevirke Thursday & Friday. Available times for members to play is after 1.30pm each day. 


Saturday 7th March;  Norsewood 27 Hole Rosebowl Tournament. 8am Cup of tea, 8.20am draw, 8.30am tee off. Entry sheet up in the clubhouse, as Norsewoods Captain Neil wishes to do a draw prior to Saturday. 


Saturday 14th March,  Dannevirke High School 18 hole Ambrose Tournament. Entries to Amrit or Zane, or through the high school Facebook page


Club Championships.  Refer last weeks What's On, entry sheets are up in the foyer. Seeded draw for players who enter. 


Coronation Cup;   Saturday is the last day to put your name on the sheet to be considered for this years Coronation Cup team. This sheet is also in the foyer.


BBQ;  Members may recall at our Christmas Cheer, Marcus Ransom & Glen McClelland ran a very successful haggle hole. The proceeds going towards a new BBQ for the Club. The said BBQ is now at the club in pristine condition. Please, we ask that if used, this BBQ be cleaned back to new condition. Thanks


March is yet another busy month on the golfing calander, so please come on out and enjoy the conditions before winter sets in.

Saturday 11th April; Club competition Card draw at 11.15 am for 11.30 am tee off. Duty Pat, House Scott  Saturday 11th / Sunday 12th April; Coronation Cup Zone play at Takapau. The four Clubs involved are Dannevirke, Takapau, Porongahau, and Cape Turnagain. Draw below Team Members, leaving Mangatera Hotel carpark at 6.15 am  CORONATION CUP 2026 - see draw below Tuesday 14th April; Mangatera Hotel sponsored LVA Tournament 10 am tee off. enquiries to Donald Speedy 027 430 5620 Saturday 18th April; Cape Turnagain 27-hole Strokeplay Tournament. Round 3 of the Ruahine Rosebowl. 8 am tea & Coffee, 8.30 am Tee off. Let's get a good muster to Herbertville, always a great day. Sunday 19th April; Golf Hawkes Bay Pennants Round 5. All four teams travel for this round. Handicap 2 & 3 still have a chance of making the finals! Summer Cup; Amrit and I did battle last Saturday. Finally, I have my name on a club trophy. Great match, thanks, Amrit. Sisters Club, Queen's Birthday in Patea; S orry for missing a number of people at the proposed meeting a couple of weeks ago, I assumed it would be a normal Saturday and turned up at 5 pm to discover only a small number of people played that day, and most of those that did had gone home. I’m at golf this Saturday, so we’ll have a meeting following the prize giving. From my informal enquiries, it looks like we’ll have a group of about 24 going to Patea. I’ve booked accommodation at the Kerry Lane motel in Hawera. I’m currently looking at transport options. The most likely is a couple of vans. We will then require a couple of drivers for Saturday and Sunday. Regards Stephen Best wishes to our Coronation Cup team at Takapau, let's hope the cyclone heads out east and gives us a miss. Friday, April 3rd; There will be a Friday competition run tomorrow. Own groups up until 12 noon. Card draw at 12 for those looking for a game at that time. Saturday 4th April; Club day for those who are around over the weekend. 11.15 am card draw for 11.30 am tee off. Starter Zane, House Basil. Any members playing Club Championship matches, please contact the starter. Saturday 10th / Sunday 11th April; Coronation Cup Zone play at Takapau. The selectors have named the following players. We would like to thank all those that have put their names forward for this year's Coronation cup team. The selection for this was not an easy task as we started with 23 names to select from, but we got there. Rosebowl Thank you to the two Dannevirke players who made it to Pongaroa last Sunday. Thanks also to Pongaroa for a well-run, well-fed day, as always we were well looked after. Thanks, Mark and Ranier, for stepping in to play for Dannevirke when we were short on numbers. RESULTS: 1st Norsewood 2nd Cape Turnagain 3rd Pongaroa 4th Dannevirke 5th Takapau A Brief history: the Rosebowl has been taking place for 30+ years and is a meaningful tournament for local interculb golf. We appreciate there is a lot of golf at this time of the season, however, it is a shame when such days are not well supported by our members. Any thoughts or suggestions on how this event can be better attended, please reach out to Zane, Peter, or any match committee member. We do not want to see these tournaments fall off the annual calendar. Coronation Cup A team will be selected by Thursday, 2nd April. First round is in Takapau on Saturday, 11th April Twilight The end of Twilight season was postponed this week due to the weather and will be held next Thursday (weather permitting).
