Please forward to family and friends with camper vans caravans etc. This is a Tararua District Council sponsored Tournament, aimed at bringing visitors to our district Starting in Eketahuna and finishing in Dannevirke February 8th (Entry form down load below).
Management Committee;
Meeting last night. Ladies are into their Championship rounds now, NZ Covid Tracer QR codes. Please if you have a capable phone, check in via the QR code each time you visit the Golf Club as you would any other business in town. The Management Committee is liable for tracking all visits to our Course, so please assist.
Funding, Miranda is working through recent changes with funding applications. The Infinity fund no longer has machines in Dannevirke. The same fund has a new name and an increased area, so we may struggle with funding from them going forward.
Applications are going to the new Foundation with machines in the Merrylees Hotel, plus the larger requests will still go through Pub Charity (Mangatera Hotel machines) .
Golf HB & Poverty Bay Ladies; Our Association will attempt to hold their AGM next Thursday 3rd September. The previous date did not meet the necessary numbers to continue. (Debatable, but one city Club President would not let it continue)
Bottom Bar Area; While there was some disappointment this hasn't progressed as well as expected. The Covid closure, and Petes new hip haven't helped, so please members patience is requested.
Cart Shed; The new door has been installed. Any member with a valid reason for holding a key to this shed, please see either President Tony, or Peter Greatbatch
Gates, Inspiration and time are still in progress
With 20mm of rain this week, there may be some softer spots around the Course, so please be mindful where you walk, tow your trundler, or drive your carts.. The Course looks great at the moment, so please don't spoil it this late in the winter. Spring Golf starts Tuesday, Come on out, join in and enjoy our Club and Course.
Good Golfing

(Notebook on the bar on competition days) The raffle will be drawn during the prize giving for the Marae Tournament. Regards Stephen. Carts: We have already had two disappointing incidents this year. Our new carts are there to use and be respected. Last Sunday (unknown driver) obviously drove up to another cart on number 14 tee and tried to push it, leaving black tyre marks and holes in the lime track. Just dumb! Appreciate we have visitors and members using our carts, but any such behaviour will be dealt to by the Management Committee. "Use them, don't abuse them" Greenstaff; With Kierane being a fully qualified Green Keeper, the committee and he decided it was a good time to start another Apprentice. The role was advertised before Christmas, and so it is good to welcome Liam Making to our Club. Great to have you on board, and all the best for the next few years, gaining a qualification. Kierane Given the amount of water we now have available, our greens are being well watered. Being softer than normal, please be aware of pitch marks on the Greens. They may not always be yours, but please make a habit of repairing any you see. Thanks That wraps up this week. Have a good weekend, and hopefully the weather is not as bad as predicted. Good Golfing,๐ Bryan Burt Club Scribe

Great opportunity to try out the game, introduce family and friends to golf, or hone a few new skills over 9 holes. The weather gods have been much kinder to us, than in some areas of the country. With approximately 112 mils of rain this month, the course has gone from a dry, plenty of run summer track to a lush green autumn track in a couple of weeks. Plenty of visitors keeping Pat busy, so come on out and enjoy our great course. See you soon. Good Golfing๐ Bryan Burt Club Scribe
