Important reminder....An email I had hoped I wouldn't need to send Folks there have been breaches of the rules observed that are totally unacceptable. Our President, Captain and Handicaper spent some time last weekend going through the NZGA release and writing up a board which gave members of our Club a set of rules as they read them. Maybe you don't agree with their interpretation, tough, they are what they are and those gentlemen have b
been elected to manage the club for the year.
Please no more groups of three or four. Do not tee off number one as a two and wait on the second tee to combine into a four. Even if you work at the same place, our leaders have asked that you do not play in groups of more than two. (maximum)
Greens staff have also asked that we observe the start time of 9am, not 8.30 as has happened. and remember the course is CLOSED Mondays
While in lockdown level 3 please;
a) No teeing off before 9am
b) No groups of more than two, anywhere on the course.
c) No golf Mondays
We are talking two weekends plus the four days Tuesday to Friday next week. Just do it!

Friday, April 3rd; There will be a Friday competition run tomorrow. Own groups up until 12 noon. Card draw at 12 for those looking for a game at that time. We would like to thank all those that have put their names forward for this year's Coronation cup team. The selection for this was not an easy task as we started with 23 names to select from, but we got there. Rosebowl Thank you to the two Dannevirke players who made it to Pongaroa last Sunday. Thanks also to Pongaroa for a well-run, well-fed day, as always we were well looked after. RESULTS: 1st Norsewood 2nd Cape Turnagain 3rd Pongaroa 4th Dannevirke 5th Takapau A Brief history: the Rosebowl has been taking place for 30+ years and is a meaningful tournament for local interculb golf. We appreciate there is a lot of golf at this time of the season, however, it is a shame when such days are not well supported by our members. Any thoughts or suggestions on how this event can be better attended, please reach out to Zane, Peter, or any match committee member. We do not want to see these tournaments fall off the annual calendar. Coronation Cup A team will be selected by Thursday, 2nd April. First round is in Takapau on Saturday, 11th April Twilight The end of Twilight season was postponed this week due to the weather and will be held next Thursday (weather permitting). Saturday 21st March; Club Championships Round 1 Matchplay. Duty, Match Committee, House ?. If you have a Match, please convey that to the starters. Round 2 is not until May 2nd, so please keep communication with your opponent open so the matches can all be completed. Thank you to all who put names forward for the Championships. We have four draws, Senior, Intermediate A & B, and Junior A (all attached) compiled from names entered. Thanks, Pat Harold, for putting the draws together. Sunday 22nd March; Pongaroa 27 Hole Strokeplay Tournament, Round two of the Ruahine Rosebowl. 8 am, tea & Coffee, 8.30 am tee off, $35 includes competition and food. Can we get a good muster, please, especially those looking for Coronation Cup selection. We require more than three, which we had at Norsewood, please. High School Ambrose: A thank-you note from the High School says it all. " Kia ora e te whānau, our golf tournament last weekend was awesome, with 105 golfers turning up to support our school and try their luck at winning $20 000! Unfortunately, no one was able to ‘sink a hole in one’ and win the money. A big thank you to Mr Amrit Pasad and all the staff and students who helped to make this event a success. We would also like to thank the Dannevirke Golf Course, our generous sponsors and our community for entering the tournament and participating in the fundraising activities held on the day. All profits of this event will go towards our students’ sports travel." Special General Meeting; Thank you to the 55 members who turned out Monday night for the purpose of " Setting the annual member subscription fees for the 2026 / 2027 year. " The conclusion being the annual subscriptions for 2026 / 2027 is $665 for full playing members. The Management Committee acknowledges their error in not advertising this as an Agenda item at the AGM in December. Matter sorted, repeat of error to be avoided, move on.
