We are certainly into Summer conditions at the moment. Look at last Saturdays scoring Senior, David Hurrell 41 stb, Craig Evans 40, Willie Veitch 38, Junior Norm Evans 45, Fraancis De Schweitzer 42, Warren Ridge, M B Lilo, and Trevor De laharpe all on 41. For the rest of us scoring between 37 and 40, good work, you are getting a new handicap.
Saturday 1st February, Card draw 11.30am. Please complete first round of summer Cup Matches either this weekend or on Waitangi Day, Round 2 starts next Saturday.

Contributions:
Ladies; Glenys Nicol Ladies Captain,
The ladies have been refurbishing their locker room. Nice and bright and light. Gone is the “hospital green”, in with the” inspirational cream” It is looking great even if it is the wrong colour. Thanks to everyone for their help. Still a work in progress to replace notice boards etc. All welcome to check it out.
At our ladies AGM we have decided this year to trial, combine with the men and have our club champ finals day on the 23rd May. Reason being to return to a “big club day.” So qualifying rounds, quarter and semi finals are scheduled to be completed before that date. Please refer to your program. The men reported better weather and course conditions last year, so hopefully that will continue.
We have also made an executive decision to not proceed with our tournament on 19th March. New World were approached for sponsorship again this year and their response was they would sooner sponsor the club as a whole. Ie Flags. We haven’t persued other sponsors this year. Maybe next year for that.
NZMCA tournament 14th March. Should be a good fundraiser for the club. They, camp, play golf, and the club provide a meal (BBQ) before moving on to Pahiatua on Saturday. Could we have some ladies help with cards on that day please.
Happy, happy golfing. The course is amazing. Glenys
Seniors Gus Terry,
Central and Southern Hawkes Bay Seniors Golf.
A reminder to everyone that Opening Day will be at
Waipukurau on Tuesday February 4th. As usual the club rooms will be open
for morning tea from about 9.45am and tee off will follow at 10.30.
Dannevirke players meet at the Hub car park at 9am.
Cheers
Gus.

Hire of the Club Lounge
We have 2 weddings booked for February. On Friday 21 February we have a wedding reception for Hamish Prenter and on Saturday 29 February Adam Webster is getting married at the Golf Club. I’ll send out a reminder closer to the time but it does mean the upstairs lounge is not available for a couple of days. These are the only 2 confirmed bookings I have for 2020.
Waitangi Day
On Thursday 6 February there will be a Sister’s Club tournament, tee off 11.00 am, $10.00, Sister’s Club members to bring a prize please.
This year the Sister’s Club tournament is to be hosted by the Rarangi Club in Blenhiem on 30 and 31 May and we are considering playing a couple of other courses in the Malborough area either prior to or following the tournament. So we are trying to raise extra money to keep costs to a minimum thus encouraging as many as possible to make the trip.
Marae tournament
Saturday 22 February is the annual marae tournamet. 11.00 am start $30 entry with great prizes and great food all day. Names on the board please or contact Stephen.
Thanks
Question? Does anyone know the owners of these two vehicles, Red Commodor Reg HTNSXY, White Toyota Corolla Reg PJ 6838. If you know these young people, or are introducing them to the game of golf, please contact President Tony on 021 267 1284. Thanks
Lots to read tonight, A big thanks to Glenys Gus and Stephen for their contributions,
Good Golfing

(Notebook on the bar on competition days) The raffle will be drawn during the prize giving for the Marae Tournament. Regards Stephen. Carts: We have already had two disappointing incidents this year. Our new carts are there to use and be respected. Last Sunday (unknown driver) obviously drove up to another cart on number 14 tee and tried to push it, leaving black tyre marks and holes in the lime track. Just dumb! Appreciate we have visitors and members using our carts, but any such behaviour will be dealt to by the Management Committee. "Use them, don't abuse them" Greenstaff; With Kierane being a fully qualified Green Keeper, the committee and he decided it was a good time to start another Apprentice. The role was advertised before Christmas, and so it is good to welcome Liam Making to our Club. Great to have you on board, and all the best for the next few years, gaining a qualification. Kierane Given the amount of water we now have available, our greens are being well watered. Being softer than normal, please be aware of pitch marks on the Greens. They may not always be yours, but please make a habit of repairing any you see. Thanks That wraps up this week. Have a good weekend, and hopefully the weather is not as bad as predicted. Good Golfing,๐ Bryan Burt Club Scribe

Off to the finals Twilight Golf; Don't forget Twilight Golf is played every Thursday, 4.30 to 5.30 pm tee off during daylight savings months. Great opportunity to try out the game, introduce family and friends to golf, or hone a few new skills over 9 holes. The weather gods have been much kinder to us, than in some areas of the country. With approximately 112 mils of rain this month, the course has gone from a dry, plenty of run summer track to a lush green autumn track in a couple of weeks. Plenty of visitors keeping Pat busy, so come on out and enjoy our great course. See you soon. Good Golfing๐ Bryan Burt Club Scribe
