What's On 1st February 2024?

Evening all,
Saturday 3rd February; Interclub with Fielding at Fielding. We were unable to get a big bus for this trip, so have two min buses booked. Mike requires a driver for the second bus please. He is offering to drive one. Remember we are leaving the Services & Citizens Club at 9.30am
Saturday 3rd February; For those not going to the Inter Club, there will be a card draw at 11.30am. Match Committee duty is Chalky, House Committee Majken Webster. Please keep Summer Cup matches going. There should be no first round matches outstanding after Tuesday 6th.
Monday 5th February; Final round of the Motor Homes Association Tournament at Dannevirke. Captain Mike is still looking for helpers around 5pm the dish up and wash up after the roast meal is served
Tuesday 6th February; Yes folks its that day again when we Pakeha members play the Maori members. Last year there was an even field of players, with the Pakeha team taking the honours. (aggregate stableford) Good luck to both teams. House Committee duty is Johnny Edwards. Johnny will require assistance please from 3pm, for the initial rush hour
Pennants; For the coming season we have three Pennant teams in the GHB competition. Championship 1, (6 man team) Handicap 2 and 4 (8 man teams) Yesterday we were advised by Golf HB that Wairoa are unable to take their place in Championship 3. We have been asked to fill that vacancy. To do so we require at least 14 players willing to play Championship Pennants (Off the stick) Pennant dates are all Sundays. 25th February, 10th March, 24th March, 14th April, and 28th April. Lat years Greenwood Cup team will be the core of Championship 1, so if you are looking at stepping up, this could be your opportunity. Please contact Captain Mike urgently, so we can get back to AJ at Golf HB
Correction; Last weeks W O stated the seeding for the open Championship would be done on Net. This is in fact Gross. A reminder that the two qualifying rounds are Tuesday 6th and Saturday 10th February
President; President Peter has been asking for a couple of weeks now, where his planks for loading the Recycling bins had gone. The mystery has an ending, but whoever took them from the Golf Club, left them at Captain Mikes gate with a 4 Iron. Thanks for that, but really!
Number 7 Green; The open drains in front of number 7, have now been closed in and seed sown The Greens Staff ask that they remain as GUR, but please until further notice, and the grass grows, no trundlers or carts to drive or be pulled over the drains. Pretty obvious I would have thought, but apparently not.
The course is going to be busy over the next five days, so hopefully the weather plays its part. Good luck if you have a Summer Cup match, and also to our members heading to Fielding.
