Sisters Club, 50th Tournament at Patea 4th and 5th June. We currently have 23 players and 2 non players booked in. Any member wanting information on this tournament, please contact Stephen Paewai.
Last Sunday; Thanks to the 11 members who went to Herbertville for the Cape Turnagain 27 hole tournament. As is often the case, Norm Evans selected a very fine team of four to contend the 2nd round of the Ruahine Rosebowl, and these players were outplayed by the non selected players. In the spirit of the game Bill Newland (Life Member of Pongaroa) assisted that club to form a team, as they had a group in the South Island, that had 3 members struck down with Covid. Pongaroa ended the day with 5 points, Cape Turnagain 4, Takapau 3 Dannevirke 2. Shaun Hulena,(Takapau) took out the Senior gross, which was a pleasure to see for two reasons. One his obvious ability, and two the fact that he continued the Hulena tradition of attending Ruahine Rosebowl Tournaments, something his late father Geoff did for many years, bringing Shaun along from a young age.
Once again, best wishes to the Coronation Cup team, and keep those matches flowing.
Good Golfing
