This weekend you are playing for your team and Club, so chin up and give it your best.

Saturday 14th May; Card draw 11am.  Championship matches please. The finals for both men and ladies is Saturday 28th, and Captain Mike is determined this is happening, so don't let yourself get disqualified. Any issues, please contact Captain Mike.

Wiffin Cup; Captain Mike is preparing the draw at present. He may send it our tonight on a separate email, otherwise it will be up at the clubhouse tomorrow. Obviously

Coronation Cup will take plenty out, but if you and you opponent are there on Saturday, by all means play your match.

Seniors;    Just a reminder that our next club day is at Waipawa on Tuesday 17 May. Cup of tea available from 9.30am with Tee off at 10.30am Very welcome rain this week should ensure the course will be in great order for some good scores??? Look forward to seeing you all there. Regards Gavin

Sisters Club,  50th Tournament at Patea 4th and 5th June. We currently have 23 players and 2 non players booked in. Any member wanting information on this tournament, please contact Stephen Paewai.

Last Sunday; Thanks to the 11 members who went to Herbertville for the Cape Turnagain 27 hole tournament. As is often the case, Norm Evans selected a very fine team of four to contend the 2nd round of the Ruahine Rosebowl, and these players were outplayed by the non selected players. In the spirit of the game Bill Newland (Life Member of Pongaroa) assisted that club to form a team, as they had a group in the South Island, that had 3 members struck down with Covid. Pongaroa ended the day with 5 points, Cape Turnagain 4, Takapau 3 Dannevirke 2. Shaun Hulena,(Takapau) took out the Senior gross, which was a pleasure to see for two reasons. One his obvious ability, and two the fact that he continued the Hulena tradition of attending Ruahine Rosebowl Tournaments, something his late father Geoff did for many years, bringing Shaun along from a young age.

Once again, best wishes to the Coronation Cup team, and keep those matches flowing.

Good Golfing

Our new carts are there to use and be respected. Last Sunday (unknown driver) obviously drove up to another cart on number 14 tee and tried to push it, leaving black tyre marks and holes in the lime track. Just dumb! Appreciate we have visitors and members using our carts, but any such behaviour will be dealt to by the Management Committee. "Use them, don't abuse them" Greenstaff; With Kierane being a fully qualified Green Keeper, the committee and he decided it was a good time to start another Apprentice. The role was advertised before Christmas, and so it is good to welcome Liam Making to our Club. Great to have you on board, and all the best for the next few years, gaining a qualification. Kierane Given the amount of water we now have available, our greens are being well watered. Being softer than normal, please be aware of pitch marks on the Greens. They may not always be yours, but please make a habit of repairing any you see. Thanks That wraps up this week. Have a good weekend, and hopefully the weather is not as bad as predicted. Good Golfing,👍 Bryan Burt Club Scribe

Great opportunity to try out the game, introduce family and friends to golf, or hone a few new skills over 9 holes. The weather gods have been much kinder to us, than in some areas of the country. With approximately 112 mils of rain this month, the course has gone from a dry, plenty of run summer track to a lush green autumn track in a couple of weeks. Plenty of visitors keeping Pat busy, so come on out and enjoy our great course. See you soon. Good Golfing👍 Bryan Burt Club Scribe
