What's on 6th May 2022

Saturday 7th May; 11am Card draw Club Champs Semi Finals; for the groups up to this stage, thank you. Anyone awaiting matches, please keep in contact with your opponents, as we are definitely still wanting all finals on Saturday May 28th. Ladies & Mens finals
Sunday 8th May; Cape Turnagain 27 hole stroke play tournament. (Round 2 Ruahine Rose bowl) Assuming its 8am Cup of tea, 8.30am tee off
Pennants; last Sunday sore the completion of this years round robin competition leading into the finals on Sunday 15th May. I don't believe we have any team in the finals (I stand to be corrected). On behalf of Captain Mike, thank you for your participation in Pennants this year. Covid meant we had to default on more than one occasion, but we still carried on and finished the competition. Your willingness to travel and participate is appreciated, plus it assists in teaching match play, and experiencing other courses, and the varying green speeds we encounter. Thank you all
Eagles Golfing Association Quadrangular Wednesday 4th May; The Eagles held a very successful tournament on Wednesday with 67 men and 12 women in the field. Scoring was good with a couple of players on 39 points and the prize list finishing 48 places later with 32 points. All the comments about the course were very favourable. Thanks to Peter for welcoming everyone to the course and to all the Vets who helped me on the day. A wonderful day of golf on a typical Dannevirke day, on a great course, in great condition. Cheers Warren Ridge
Sisters Club (Patea Queens Birthday week end) A meeting for all those going to the Sisters Club in Patea on 3 June will be held at the Merrylees hotel on Wednesday 11 May at 7.15 pm to update everyone on arrangements. It’s not too late for others to get their names to me but please do so asap. Stephen Paewai
Good luck to members playing Club Champs this week end. A call out to our new members. The 27 hole tournament at Cape Turnagain on Sunday will be an enjoyable day. The Cape members are fantastic hosts, with home made morning tea, lunch and an early evening meal all part of the entry fee. A great opportunity to play a true country course. All around NZ country clubs are part of the rural community, given locals the opportunity to participate in the game we all love. If we support their tournament, they will do the same for us at our tournament in August.
Good Golfing,
