Report; Management Committee Meeting Wednesday 20th July:
We currently have three funding applications in with the various charities
Thanks to Captain Mike, Bung Lilo, and President Tony for all the work removing the tree on number 6, and cleaning up number 3, while Kierane and AG were off with Covid.
Tony also wanted to acknowledge the offers of assistance received during the above week. If you helped in any way then a big thank you
Thanks Peter Drummond (Drum) for the repair work on our older carts. Replacing bushes, updating key tumblers and fitting the new batteries
Left of number 2 green; Peter Greatbatch has moved some of the mulch between the existing trees. If anyone wants to head down there with a barrow and rake, all the mulch needs to be spread out back toward the mound. Ladies Captain Glenys will look into natives to be planted between the existing shrubs and the mound.
House; The house on Tamaki River Road, is now empty, and our thanks to Peter Greatbatch for all his work, getting this closer to go to market. The toilet, vanity etc have been replaced, a couple of new doors hung, plus other maintenance work. Next will be clearing the section of various rubbish items. Any member with the time and willingness are welcome to get a key from President Tony or Peter, to do a thorough clean of the house. You may need to take an old jug with you as the hot water is off at present, but the power is on, switched off at the mains
The tree on number 12; Thank you for the two emails received, plus the various comments, either positive or negative. The greens committee and staff with discuss this at their next meeting.
It's been a long time since we have had a wet and cooler winter like this one. Rainfall recorded in George Street is 800mm year to date. Last year at the end of November we were at 745mm, so yes it has been wet. Our course seems to be holding up under the circumstances. Please be considerate where you take trundlers and carts, to keep lush grass areas to play off rather than warn mud areas.
Have a great week end, Here's hoping that includes a round of golf.
Good Golfing
