What's On 22 November 2024?

Saturday 23rd November; Drummond Cup (3 clubs plus putter) Duty Chalky & Tim House Johnny Edwards.
Saturday 30th Inter Club v Feilding (At Dannevirke) 11.30am card draw
Junior Golf; Monday 25th November sees the 3rd week of the Junior golf programme, commencing at 4pm. The programme is going very well and will conclude with a 4 hole tournament on Sunday 8th December. A parent spoke to me today saying his 7 year old son is part of this, and is having a blast. Dad is a golfer, but his son is getting valuable skills from the programme which may one day produce a next generation member.
Twilight Golf; Up an running again for another season Thursday nights from 3.30pm onwards
Results; Greenwood Cup. Our team went through 4 rounds last weekend unbeaten, with 3 wins against Central, Karamu, Napier and a half with Hastings. At the completion of the event we were in 4th place with 9 match points. The overall winners being Onga Onga with back to back titles. Rhys Harold went through all 7 matches over two weekends undefeated, which is a great result. A very credible placing for our young team, with the potential to go better, and one day claim the title. Thanks to the team and reserves for giving up two weekends to compete in this high level event, and to the management crew, and on course supporters/ caddies, again thank you for your efforts
Results Ladies; Congratulations to the ladies team for winning the Ashcott Cup against Karamu at Waipukurau on Wednesday. The team of Margaret Stephenson, Susie Kerr, Marilyn Hall and Kerrie Gunderson won 4 / 0. Also congratulation to Rainier for being runner up to the Junior Gross at Champions Of Champions at Napier Golf Club on Sunday. Thanks to Bernie Williams for supporting Ranier as her caddie.
What's On; If for some reason, circumstances have changed and you no longer wish to receive this weekly email, please reply to sender (Not All) and I will remove your name. Thanks
Annual General Meeting; Monday 9th December, 7.30 pm at the Club House. Full notice will be in next weeks Bush Telegraph and reprinted here for the next two weeks. Reports will be emailed to everyone who receives What's On, plus copies will be available at the Meeting.
Spring will end one day, and we will get some summer weather. The course is in great condition with plenty of grass, so straying into the rough is not advised. Come on out and have a round, the walk and golf is great for the mind and soul.
Good Golfing👍
