What's On 7 March 2024?

Bryan Burt - club scribe • March 7, 2024

 Evening all,

Saturday 9th March; 11.30am Round 1, Championship matchplay;  Duty; Match   Tim & Chalky    House.

While Round 1 is listed for this Saturday,  round 2 is not until the 13th of April.  Senior and Intermediate B only have 16 in their field, so playing 8 matches by April 13th should not be an issue. For Intermediate A, and Junior A & B, having additional players, we need to play the first 2 rounds by April 13th. Please contact your opponent (not me) if you aren't going to be around this weekend, so they are aware they don't have a match. All the email addresses are above so not an onerous job.

Sunday 10th March;  Round 2 GHB Pennant Competition,   Championship 1 and 3 are both at Maraenui, Handicap 2 at Waipukurau, and Handicap 4 at Waipawa.  Good luck

Sunday 10th March;  Norsewood 27 Hole Stroke play Tournament.  Round 1 of the 2024 Ruahine Rosebowl.  Start time 8am. Lunch and evening meal provided. Please if you can get up to Norsewood please do so, as its always good to support our Rosebowl Clubs. With 40 players out for Pennants and the LVA, we could be short on numbers, so if you can, please head to Norsewood

Saturday 16th March;    Dannevirke High School Ambrose Golf Tournament

Just to remind you all the DHS Ambrose golf tournament will be held on Saturday 16th March. Get your team of three ready and register by ringing school on 06 373 8302 or put your names down at the noticeboard at the club. You can enter on the day. Remember the tee-off is at 11.00 am.  We will have bbq, drink sales around the course, haggle hole and raffles - some great prizes to be won.

Come and enjoy the game of golf and at the same time help the school raise some money to improve the facilities for our students.  Hole in One, $20 000 on first Hole-in-one on Hole No 3 sponsored by Dannevirke High School.

Thanks Amrit.

North Island LVA Tournament;  Donald Speedy is leading a tour party to the North Island LVA tournament at Ohope next week. .  Practice round Sunday, Tournament Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. home Thursday, resting Friday.  A group of 18 going from Dannevirke.  Best of luck for the Golf.

We are now into Autumn Golf, and with that comes plenty of opportunity to get out playing. We have members heading in all directions this week end, so please travel safely and play well.

Off to the finals Twilight Golf; Don't forget Twilight Golf is played every Thursday, 4.30 to 5.30 pm tee off during daylight savings months. Great opportunity to try out the game, introduce family and friends to golf, or hone a few new skills over 9 holes. The weather gods have been much kinder to us, than in some areas of the country. With approximately 112 mils of rain this month, the course has gone from a dry, plenty of run summer track to a lush green autumn track in a couple of weeks. Plenty of visitors keeping Pat busy, so come on out and enjoy our great course. See you soon. Good Golfing👍 Bryan Burt Club Scribe
