What's On 8 July 2022

Saturday 9th July;  Card draw 11am, Presidents Cup Qualifying Top 32 Players.

Please continue with Wiffin Cup and Sattrup & Brannigan matches, Summer Cup still needs to be completed please.

Golf Etiquette; To continue from last weeks discussion, I received this email "Not to mention the rabbits that wear size 12 golf shoes and wander all through the bunkers and are to bl...y lazy to rake them"

Our thanks to our bunker groomers Malcolm, Rodney and Doug. These men spend hours, raking the bunkers to keep the sand soft for playing out of. If you have played from a bunker, please pick up a rake, and rake out your playing divot, and all your foot prints. To really appreciate what these guys do, pick up a rake one day, and rake the entire bunker. Trust me its not a 30 second job!

Hole In One Board; Championship and all other boards in are being updated shortly. One bit of information we are short on is Hole In One records. If you have had a hole in one, and your name is not on the board at the top of the stairs, please either see Zane Gregory at golf, or better still email Zane at   zanegregory1985@gmail.com

Newly planted Pine Tree on the left of number 12;  Following an inquiry last night, I have sought information regarding the arrival of said tree. Our staff have planted this tree for a couple of reasons. One the hole is called "Narrows" Two, for the past three mowings, the fairway from the gate to the green has been moved three mower widths towards the road. As we have a new generation of long hitters, and the advancements in clubs, they wanted to make the long hitters, trying to reach the brow of the hill off the tee something to think about. If they have a go, and get behind the tree, then they should have the shots in their game to get around it. For the average golfer, its about 270 metres from the tee, so easy, play to the right of it, chip on and two putt, and you've played to your handicap. It will take years to grow to a reasonable size, but think of all the courses, or holes, that have trees to play around.  Anyone with concerns, please send me an email, and I can forward to the appropriate people. As your scribe, I merely providing the information.

Weather looks a bit ugly for the weekend, so here's hoping, they've got it wrong again.

Good golfing
