What's On 14 September 2023?

Saturday 16th September; Card draw 11am duty Chalky & Timmy
Coronation Cup; Zone play takes place on Saturday at Pongaroa. Best of luck to our team. Too the team, play has been brought forward to 8am tee off. Because we start on multiple tees, everyone will be teed off relatively quickly, so plan on 8am start for all. Captain Mike is taking his mini bus, so if anyone requires transport, please either email Mike at mikematthews058@gmail.com, or phone him on 021 402 043.
Coring; Our greens and tees have been cored over the past three days, The course is open, and will be ready for the Vets at 10am. There is still some tidying of thatch and tees to put back, but the course is now playable again. Thanks to our staff and Greens committee members. Thanks to Max Charmley, for yet again bringing a tractor & trailer to the course to assist with this process.
Pitch marks and divots; Divots are still a problem on the course. While it is good to see more and more green fee players on the course, if they are only learners (we've all been there) maybe a quiet word to them and show them how and why they need to repair a divot, night reduce the numbers. We need to encourage new players, so any assistance here would be appreciated.
Looking forward to the Coronation Cup zone play on Saturday. Wishing the team all the best. This is a great competition, and like any sport, we often meet the same opponents year after year, with differing results. Enjoy the day. To our members playing at home on Saturday, remember coring has only been completed this week, so be respectful of course presentation.
Good Golfing👍
