Saturday 4th December; Club Day 11.30am card draw


Monday 6th December; Annual General Meeting 7.30pm in the Clubhouse upstairs lounge. (Vaccine Passports required)


Tuesday 7th December; Seniors December 7th sees our finale for the 2021 season with the Xmas Cheer at Dannevirke. As usual the clubhouse will be open from about 9.30am for a cuppa with tee off at 10.30.As per advice from the Dannevirke Management Committee the course will only open to players who are double vaccinated against covid-19.


Saturday 11th; Christmas Cheer sponsored by Shires fruit & Vege Mart. (Vaccine passports required}


As you are all ware tonight at mid night, we move into the traffic light system for Covid 19. As your club scribe I am only conveying what I have been asked to convey. Our Club house is a Licensed Premise, thus comes under the same rules as cafes, bars, clubs etc. We have a Government mandate, that anyone entering a Licensed Premise must carry a Vaccination Card. The entire building comes under the License, the shop, toilets, office, cafe, lounge. Regarding the Christmas Cheer, this has also been made a Vaccine Passport tournament, as we have close to 100 in the field. Our match committee, and bar staff all volunteer, we don't want to try and accommodate and separate players etc.

 

Any questions regarding our Club rulings, Captain Mike Matthews is willing to discuss with you. Contact Mike on 021 402043. This is a whole new territory for all of us, and I appreciate there is divided opinion out there, but your Management Committee , has to work with rules and mandates, not opinion. There is much to discuss and settle on regarding these rulings. For a sports club, like ourselves, there is a chain reaction. Mandates come from the Government to Sports NZ, then onto Golf NZ, and finally the clubs. Questions for clarity are going back and forth all the time, so there is not a totally clear picture of the future yet, but as information comes to hand, we will endeavour to keep you informed

What's On 25 April 2025?

Friday 25th April; Anzac Day. Waitahora Cup, (best stabeford on the day). Men versus Ladies aggregate stableford. 12 noon Card draw. Saturday 26th April; Wiffin Cup Qualifying. Top 32 nett scores go through to the Matchplay rounds. House Duty Rhea Clubhouse; The clubhouse has been booked this weekend for a wedding. On Friday and Saturday can members please use the downstairs bar. Please take the time this weekend to get any Championship matches up to date. Saturday May 3rd is set down for Semi Finals, with Finals day set for Saturday May 17th. Any issues, please contact our Captains Zane or Peter Gregory. Forecast looks good for those heading to Anzac Services tomorrow morning. Our 12 noon card draw is only for tomorrow as a show of respect. A minutes silence will be observed prior to play commencing. Friday 18th April; Good Friday. A Friday competition will be held. Tee off from 10.30am, card draw at 12 noon for those interested in joining. Saturday 19th April; Card draw 11.30am. Anyone from the Match Committee present, please assist. House Duty is Basil Friday 25th April; Waitahora Cup, plus men v women aggregate stableford. 12 noon tee off/ card draw Saturday 26th April; Wiffin Cup Qualifying. Coronation Cup Finals, The teams and venue for the finals of the 2025 Coronation Cup are Te Pohue, Karamu, Pongaroa and Dannevirke, to be held at Hawkes Bay Golf Club on May 25th & 26th. A long weekend to look forward too, but not sure about the weather. If you feel like braving the conditions, come on out and have a round. If you are heading away over the weekend, travel safely. What's On 10 April 2025?

Evening all, Saturday 12th April; Cape Turnagain 27 Hole Strokeplay Tournament (Round 3 Ruahine Rosebowl). &.30am cup of tea, 8.30am Tee off Saturday 12th April; Round 2 Club Championship Matchplay. We do have a glitch in the programme, so for the 32 person draws, we are one round short. Please play these games as soon as you possibly can, as we want to continue and have the final Saturday 17t May. Duty Zane & Peter Gregory, House Stephen Sisters Club; Quick meeting to be held downstairs Saturday after prize giving please. Sunday 13th April; Round 4 Golf H B Pennants Competition. Champ 1 are playing at Wairoa, Champ 3 at swairoa. Handicap 2 at Hawkes By Golf Club, and Handicap 4 are at home. Coronation Cup; Congratulations to the Dannevirke team for winning the Zone competition at Porangahau last weekend. This now takes our team with the other Zone winners to finals week end on May 24th and 25th. Venue and the other 3 competing teams to be notified. Again please keep Championship matches moving, Easter next weekend, may provide opportunity to catch up if necessary.
