SATURDAY 21ST 

Presidents cup round 3 match play 11:30 tee off. Starters Bernie & Mike , House Committee - Depak


Saturday 28th September;  Visit from Manawatu Golf Club. We believe they have a bus with 40 players coming. It would be nice to have as many from Dannevirke attend to host our guests. The house committee will be serving platters for those visitors so they would appreciate a couple of helpers to deliver these upstairs. We also have our Greenwood boys playing for the battle of the saddle against Manawatu. We have the presentation of the shirts for Greenwood afterwards at the prize giving.


Dannevirke Youth Programme.

Many thanks to those who have come on board to help with the youth programme. I will be in touch in the next few days to have a chat about where we go from here. 


Congratulations to last weekend's winners of the KITT= Joe & Syd with a winning score on the count back of 69. KERR = Chris Peck & Brian Brown with a score of 69. HAPE =Tim & Te Awa score of 70 & SIMPSON= Rod & Doug. This was a great effort in a field of 21 pairs.


A WORD FROM THE GREEN KEEPERS: 

If you are able to walk the course please do so. Carts will be limited to those that require them to get around. This is due to the wet weather.

Also steps have been cut into the back of the 13 tee block; these are not yet complete so please do not use them as they are very slippery and may get damaged.

👉Saturday 26th July; Matches please. Competitions still running are Wiffin Cup, Sattrup & Brannigan and Presidents Cup. Card draw 11.30am Duty Zane, house Majken 👉 Saturday 2nd August. SHB 27 Hole Strokeplay Tournament. Entries close Wednesday 30th July, for the draw publication on Thursday 31st July.. No post entries (No entries on the day) We currently have about 70 entries. Reminder; Members are asked to bring a plate for a shared meal after our 27 hole tournament. 👉 Saturday 9th August; Lui Paewai Trophy. Best stableford by a club member on the day. The Lui Paewai is a sort after Trophy. The forecast looks good for the weekend. If we have heavy frosts, please delay your start time so as not to burn the fairways and greens. Evening all, Saturday 19th July; Presidents Cup Round 1 Matchplay . Duty Match Committee Chalky, House Johnny Sunday 20th July, HGC event. A travel group from Hawkes Bay who visit a course once a month. Approximately 50 - 55 golfers, staring at 9am on Tees 1, 5, 10 and 16. Still plenty of room for locals. Please be aware that players are coming from four directions, so don't just jump on a tee, make sure you they are at least half a fairway away before starting in front of them. Captain Zane is looking for anyone who can help prepare 50 burgers for our visitors around 1pm. Evening all, Saturday 12th July; Presidents Cup Qualifying, Top 32 nett scores go through to seeded matchplay competition. Tom Irwin Putter. Please count your on the green putts, the player with the least putts wins the Tom Irwin Putter competition. Duty, Math committee Peter Gregory, House committee ? Sunday 20th July; The HGC Tour group will be playing Dannevirke at 9am. Between 50 and 55 players using a 4 tee start. Still room for our members, but please be aware of the players on the 9th and 18th fairways, as they may be carrying on, so don't assume they are stopping, and jumping in front of them.
