Saturday 28th September;   Card draw 11.30aof m . Note, We have a group coming from Manawatu Golf Club, arriving at 9.30 and playing at 10.30am in their own fours. At 11am The Greenwood Squad takes on Manawatu for a Trophy called The Battle of The Saddle. The Battle team is Craig Nash, Brad Truesdale, William Harold, Patrick Harold, Clay Lochead, Brad Dippie, Hamish Prenter, Chris Mason, Greg Vigers and Peter Gregory. The Club members will follow thereafter at 11.30am. Match Committee Duty is Zane Gregory Peter Gregory and myself.  House duty Baz Mott. The Manawatu members have booked four carts, so that only leaves three spare, not that we use many Club carts on Club day. Please don't head out and play early, as the starters will be using tees, 1, 5 10 and possibly 13.

Saturday afternoon.  At the conclusion of play Saturday, we will have the Club draw, prize giving, result of the Battle of the Saddle game, then presentation of the 2024 Greenwood Squad to our members. So a bit to get through, but nothing we can't handle.

Number 16 Tee;   Captain Mike has requested players to cease the of habit hitting off the 16th tee prior to starting Golf on number 1. We are referring to people hitting a ball out into Clarks Park, but as has been the case recently, some of these go down the 15th fairway, or even the 16th. These stray balls can be dangerous if someone is coming up 15, or also can impact matches if they are the same ball and number as a member is playing in a round or match. The 16th tee is not deemed a practice area

Management Committee;  our monthly meeting was held last night, with many topics covered. Time prevents me reporting too much tonight, so will update next week.

The weather looks a bit off for the Friday golfers, but hopefully the wind etc will pass through and Saturday will be a great day. We will have a field of close to 80, so please arrive early, and enter early so the starters can organise everything with ease. If you are running late, call the club on 374 8248, so your card can be printed and entered in the draw. Thanks in anticipation

Looking forward to a good weekend

Good Golfing👍
