Saturday 6th December; Club day 11.30 am. Card draw at 11.15 am, Match committee on duty, House committee, anyone available?, as your roster expired on 29th November.
Monday 8th December; Annual General Meeting; 7.30 pm at the Clubhouse. The booklet was emailed to you all by Bailey last Monday evening.
Saturday 13th December; Shires Fruit & Vege Market sponsored Christmas Cheer Tournament. Our biggest event of the year. If you haven't done so already, please enter your fours on the Entry sheet in the foyer, so a draw can be produced and sent out next Thursday night. Sorry folks, all of our carts have been booked, so no more carts are available.
Result: Interclub with Feilding Golf Club last Saturday. For the 7th year in a row, Feilding were the winners on the day. Thank you to the 19 players from Dannevirke who participated. Congratulations to Jacob Stephenson, 75 off the stick and 45 stablefords. Even Jacobs score couldn't lift our average!
The rain over the past two days has possibly taken the sting out of the ground, so we may miss the run for a couple of days. Never mind it will be back. Have a great weekend, and see you all on Monday at the AGM.

Saturday 21st March; Club Championships Round 1 Matchplay. Duty, Match Committee, House ?. If you have a Match, please convey that to the starters. Round 2 is not until May 2nd, so please keep communication with your opponent open so the matches can all be completed. Thank you to all who put names forward for the Championships. We have four draws, Senior, Intermediate A & B, and Junior A (all attached) compiled from names entered. Thanks, Pat Harold, for putting the draws together. Sunday 22nd March; Pongaroa 27 Hole Strokeplay Tournament, Round two of the Ruahine Rosebowl. 8 am, tea & Coffee, 8.30 am tee off, $35 includes competition and food. Can we get a good muster, please, especially those looking for Coronation Cup selection. We require more than three, which we had at Norsewood, please. High School Ambrose: A thank-you note from the High School says it all. " Kia ora e te whānau, our golf tournament last weekend was awesome, with 105 golfers turning up to support our school and try their luck at winning $20 000! Unfortunately, no one was able to ‘sink a hole in one’ and win the money. A big thank you to Mr Amrit Pasad and all the staff and students who helped to make this event a success. We would also like to thank the Dannevirke Golf Course, our generous sponsors and our community for entering the tournament and participating in the fundraising activities held on the day. All profits of this event will go towards our students’ sports travel." Special General Meeting; Thank you to the 55 members who turned out Monday night for the purpose of " Setting the annual member subscription fees for the 2026 / 2027 year. " The conclusion being the annual subscriptions for 2026 / 2027 is $665 for full playing members. The Management Committee acknowledges their error in not advertising this as an Agenda item at the AGM in December. Matter sorted, repeat of error to be avoided, move on. Sat, March 14th, Dannevirke High School Ambrose Tournament, 11 am Tee off. I'm sure there will be space in the field for members not involved in the Ambrose, but I can't guarantee that, sorry. Championship 1 Dvke v Hastings @ Dannevirke, Champ 3 Dvke v Maraenui at Maraenui, Handicap 2 Dvke v Maraenui at HB Golf Club, Handicap 3 Dvke v Napier at Hastings. Championship 1 grade play at home, tee off 8.30 am. Club members can commence after Pennant tee off, but please be mindful that fours coming through the turn have right of way. Round 1 of the 2026 Rosebowl. 8am tea/ coffee, with a start time of 8.30 am Coronation Cup; For all players that have put their names forward for Selection, there is a meeting this Saturday, Club day, 10.45 am in the dining room. Very quickly it will be! If any of these players are going to the Norsewood Rosebowl, well done, we will catch up with you during the week or the following weekend; otherwise, we will see the rest on Saturday.
